MIL vent.....sooooo ANNOYING.
Today MIL wanted to see DS b/c she got him something small for Valentines Day. DH knows I don't like her coming over to our house so he suggested that we stop by for a couple of minutes so she could see DS and give him his little gift. She got him a sippy cup and a lullaby c.d. and I thought it was awesome that she was thinking of someone other than herself for a change.
Well she was holding DS and had him in the kitchen and I heard he talking to him about being thirsty. Well I went in there and his new sippy cup was half full of root beer. I was so mad. I said 1 year olds do not need Root Beer but he is more than welcome to have some water in his sippy cup. Well she totally ignored me and said okay little guy you can have a few more sips. I had to just about pry the cup out of her hand and dump it out.
She is so out of her mind. Who would think of giving a 1 year old root beer. Man I would be afraid to see what she would give him if I wasn't around!

so tired of ILs doing whatever they want "because we're the grandparents and we're supposed to spoil them!"
Whatever, you had your chance...and notice how little you see of your sons now...hmm, coincidence? I think not!
She is just pretty much insane. She has done a lot of crappy things over the past few years and doesn't know how to respect me or anyone in my family. She is mainly just jealous because she chooses to do things in her life that makes DH and I not trust her at all. And DH doesnt like her over b/c she is pretty much mean to me and doesn't respect my wishes about DS.
Ugghhh that is so annoying and unacceptable! ?Root beer? ?In what world is that ok for a baby to have?
I'm visiting my MIL in a month (can't wait...sarcasm sarcasm), she has told me the story about a million times where she fed DH FRENCH FRIES as his first solid food. ?OK, not his first solid food as in real solid food, as his first baby food ever, when he was 4 months old!! ?
And she wonders why I won't be leaving her alone with DS....?
My IL's have driven me mad form day 1! First off they were completly surprised that anyone, including myself would want to BF. They hated it mainly because for the 1st week they have been trying to watch DD all day or have her spend the night at their house and couldn't.
At Christmas FIL gave DS a cookie...a regular one....so she could have the icing and it started falling apart in her mouth....I was so mad!
They have started picking DS up every Saturday (was just every once in a while Saturday but has become every week) and they keep her all day....it started out 12-6 then they increased the time in the AM that they would pick her up every week. Last Saturday they were here by 9:45am! DD is a stay up later (like 10) and sleep in kind of baby (like 9 or 10). So now half the time they come to get her and she is still sleeping....I don't wake her up. Last Saturday they also kept her until 9pm.
The other thing that gets me is DS has a beautiful head of hair and they like to "style" it with baby oil. So everytime she comes home from there I have to bath her no matter what because her head is drentched in it.
Sorry this kind of turned into my own little vent
Not to mention that the carbonation ruins the seal on the sippy cup, making it pointless.
Don't ask me how I know that.
