difference between warm and cool mist Humidifier

I went to get one and didn't know there were two different types. I want one for when you are sick, cough and cold.

Also, how do you get your kid to take cough medicine? I got some robitussin and she just spits it out.

Re: difference between warm and cool mist Humidifier

  • Warm mist is the old kind. ?Cool mist is what they recommend now for kids so they don't get hurt from the warm steam coming out.?

    ?

As for cold medicine, put it in a medicine syringe and squirt it into her cheek a bit at a time.?

  • From what I have read cough meds are not effective for kids under 5 or 6 and should not be given.

I can't figure out the humidifier thing either.  I keep going to buy one and can't find one I like that doesn't look like a mold trap or a maintenence hog.

  • They sell Robitussin for toddlers? What's the exact name, if you don't mind telling me. Ben and Emily have terrible coughs right now and our doctor told us the only thing they could take was Benedryl. It helps, but I think they need an expectorant to help loosen up the mucus.
