Babies: 9 - 12 Months

AW: I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE making baby food!

I finally attempted it this past week, and I am so in love with it. I love that I know EXACTLY what is going into her food and it is so super easy (thanks to wholesomebabyfood.com)

Today DD and I visited our local Farmer's Market. I bought some acorn squash, sweet potatoes, peaches, and mangos. I can not wait to finish making it all. Thanks to all the ladies who post about their success making their own food, or I may never have gotten the nerve to attempt it.

I told DH the other night that I loved it so much it was exactly how I wanted to spend my life: making baby food, sewing little dresses, and taking care of our daughter. Forget going to work everyday! I've found my calling!

  • It is quite a sense of accomplishment.  I think I like it, though, because it's so much easier to feel like a culinary goddess when making veggie purees.  I can't cook grown up food to save my life.

    Totally.

  • I love making babyfood too!  My freezer is getting too full.  I need to make smaller batches  :)  I love how all the little freezer bags look full of their brightly coloured little cubes.
  • Isn't it a great feeling. It's funny to how my DS only has had homemade baby food and would refuse the canned stuff. He knows what the good stuff is.

Ahhhhahahaha! Me either! I have two go-to dinners: grilled cheese w/ soup (the Campbell's kind) or chili in a crock pot.

I couldn't have said it better myself.  Ditto, ditto, ditto!

  • We love it too.  I think the quality/taste is soo much better than store bought.
  • I agree with the pp - its good for my self-esteem! Its really hard to mess up a puree, its good for the baby and most gratifying - he loves everything I give him Big Smile
  • I really like it too, it's fun!  I like to cook anyways, and I feel like I'm "cooking" for our baby.  Not to mention the other day out of curiousity I read the label on a jar of babyfood at the store and I couldn't even pronounce the 3rd ingredient.  Hmm
