Do you try to cut out any artificial products while ttc or when/if you get pregnant?
Like drinking organic milk and buying free range meat to avoid the hormones, buying organic to avoid chemicals/pesticides on the foods, avoiding eating too many processed foods, avoiding artificial sweeteners, etc.
I mean, these are ideals anyway for healthy living. I'm not asking if a Diet Coke or a regular gallon of milk or Tyson's chicken will kill my phantom baby. I'm just wondering if anyone was advised by their doc to do these things.
Re: OK - serious TTC/nutrition/pregnancy question.
nah.
I have not, but I may begin. Can't hurt.

See, I wondered if it was just a 'green living/eco-friendly' sort of thing or not. A couple of my friends were advised by their midwives to eat organic and free range meat only and one friend who had t-ttc was told by a naturopath to only drink organic milk.
I wonder what sort of impact that stuff has, you know? We can't afford to eat that way, period. It's awfully expensive.

i think it's all a little too much and overwhelming. if someone wants to do that, great. but to be directed to do that sounds strange.
the milk thing.....regular old milk has a crapload of hormones. i think there are studies liking milk-drinking to all sorts of homronal issues with women. i drink organic milk b/c it tastes better and b/c of the stuff i've heard about regular milk. but that's it and i've done that for a few years anyway.
I read some interesting stuff about the amount of antibiotics and other things given to cows etc that come through in breast milk. That freaked me out a bit.
I know that a lot of us having trouble TTC are working towards organic as much as possible. My acupuncturist says it is good for my liver. I'll try what ever works.
