I have a separate post regarding baby girls name and have both Annabelle/Annabel and Anna as choices. However, between just these three, which do you prefer and why??
Between the two others, I'd go /w Annabel. I have a long first name /w two sets of repetitive letters that don't impact the prenunciation in any way - it's always annoyed me b/c it's made my name longer than it has to be.
Annabel is girly, but IMO doesn't go over the top. When you spell it Annabelle, you're bringing emphasis to the "belle" part, which means pretty, and that's too girly for my taste.
I like Anna b/c it's simple and can apply to many different types of personalities (the name Annabelle might not fit a tomboy).

Lovely names! Although, I'm entirely biased - my first name is Anna which is part of a full name, after my great-great-great grandmother.
My Mom goes by the middle name which we also all share, but my great grandmother went by Annabel and that's what I'd intend to call my daughter one day (hopefully).
I like Anna because the other two don't sound like "grown-up" names to me. Also, if you plan to call her Anna, simply name her Anna (that's a pet peeve of mine...)
Being an Anna myself, I actually like Annabelle a little better. Grass is always greener and whatnot. It always makes me think of the Edgar Allan Poe poem.
I prefer Anna...obviously as it's my DD's name:) But I do think Annabel is very pretty. I was considering that too, but I knew we were planning on calling her Anna and it kinda drives me crazy when a child has a name but the parents never use it. (ie. My niece's name is Katharine but they only call her Kate - and she hates when people call her Katharine but she's so shy she hardly ever corrects anyone. To this day my sister-in-law wishes she had just named her Kate!)
I love Annabelle. My husband says we can't name the baby that because it sounds "too disney" whatever that means. (There is not a disney princess named Annabelle btw) That was my first choice if it was a girl.
Re: Annabelle vs. Annabel vs. Anna
I like Anna the best.
