Level II u/s more accurate than Level I for weight?

I was just told that a Level I u/s, done in your OB's office, can be off by up to 2 lbs. either way.

But a Level II u/s, done at the high risk (etc.) office, is only ever off by 2 OUNCES.

Is this true? Because if so, zomg. I'm going to birth a toddler at this rate.

  • My level 2 was off by 2 oz for DD, but I delivered 24 hours later, so it was probably right on.

  • With DD my level II at the high risk doctors was off by a pound.  I went in on a Monday and they said 7lbs 11oz.  I delivered that Friday and she was 6lbs 11oz.  I'm hoping the level I is off as well with this one unless I'm going to be having a very large boy!  At 34 weeks he measured 6lbs 9oz.
