I had never heard of it before. I google image searched it and totally freaked myself out. Call me a hypochondriac, but I just lysol'd my entire damn house. DH and I have been sick, so probably a good idea anyway, but now I've just got the creeps.
HAH. I have mentioned before that I am a bit of a germaphobe. Clorox/other bleach is my favorite smell. MRSA is one of the reasons - they had an outbreak of it last year, and shut all the schools down to clean them.

Just keep washing your hands and keep some anti-bac hand sanitizer handy! As long as you keep vigilant about your hygiene and avoid those w/MRSA, you're golden.
My MW did a culture for MRSA (it colonizes your nose) at the same appointment when they cultured for GBS. Since hospitals are one of the #1 places where people contract it, I guess they want to make sure everyone going in is MRSA free.
Unless you work in healthcare, childcare or a school (probably not college), it is unlikely it will be in your house. MRSA is a pain- but the studies show that our testing patients in the hospital may not even really change how well we keep people from getting it- it is all about handwashing. You can also decolonize yourself if you ever test positive- almost in the same way you might prepare for surgery.

Did anyone else have a culture done too?
