Thursday Sept. 25th I woke up at 3am and thought that my water broke. We went to the dr that morning and found that I was only 2 cm dilated. Which I had been for a few weeks but I had lost my MP. All that day I waited and waited for contractions. I was going to have to come in Monday and schedule an induction if I didnt have my baby by then. Nothing... Friday morning at work I started having regular contractions that were about every 20 mins. Not wanting to go home and sit and wait I decided to spend the rest of the day at work. 5 o'clock came and the contractions were every 15 mins. About 7pm my husband and I decided to go for a walk and see if anything helped. The contractions were every 6 mins and I decided to call my midwife and let her know that I might be seeing her soon! I told her that my contractions were every 6 min but nothing too strong and I was able to talk and walk during them. She told me to try to get some sleep and call her when I felt I was ready to come in. I made it to about 5am and called my mom who was a nurse and my midwife and let them know I was ready to come in and get checked out. We made it in about 6 am and I went to the ER to check in. Just like the movies I came in and they started asking me questions and I had a contraction and couldnt even say my name! They put me in a wheelchair and wisked me off to OB. I sat attached to the monitors for 2 hours and my midwife came to check me at 8am. 6-7cm! We sat around and waited.... I tried a few positions, we walked and I got into the bath. Around noon I was 7-8cm dilated.. Thinking that I was going to still be a while my midwife went to lunch. 1:30 and my water broke.. After that things went very fast. The pushing started at 2 and I finally had her at 4:20pm! Everything went according to my birth plan. All natural and no meds. Berkeley Adaline weighed 7.7 and was 19 1/2" long and perfect!
