HI everyone. I am finally back online (didn't have a laptop til late last night) after a long week of sitting on my ass here at the hospital. so glad to be back in the loop!
I had some high BP's my last few Dr's appts and they had started me on a low dose medicine to see if it could be controlled...that was about a month ago. I had a DR's appt. last Thurs. and my urine dip came back pretty high for protein, plus my BP was a lot higher. much to my dismay, my Dr. told me to walk across the street to the hospital and they would probably keep me overnight. so, off I went.
They did a 24 urine test and it came back positive for pre-E! the level was pretty high so they felt it was better to move me from my local hospital to a great on in Boston, just in case I had to deliver soon ( I was not even 30wks at that point). I had an U/S when I got here and the baby was est. at 3lbs 5oz.
so, a week has passed and my BP's have still been pretty high. the have upped my meds 3x and started me on something different yesterday which gave me a ragging headache. I am still in complete denial that I could have a baby any day!! I was all set to go to work on Thurs. night!! my Dr. was asking me if I had had dizzyness, blurry vision, headaches (all signs of high BP) and I hadn't had any warning!! he decided to scare the crap out of me by telling me I could have gone to work and had a stroke!
so, they are hoping to get me passed 32wks. hopefully by then my little guy will have his lungs all set and will only need a breathing tube. any good vibes/ prayers are much appreciated!!

So sorry!! Join the bedrest check in, I post it at 1:00.
Hang in there, every day counts!
Wow- I JUST posted on here about my experience!
I went to the Dr. last week and had high bp, went again and had protein. The took blood and was high in something. I went back to the dr Weds and he sent me straight to the hospital- everything so far has been ok- bp was SUPER high last week, but at the hosp it came down a little. Bad news was that darn protein in my urine. They did release me to home on strict bedrest last night, but I have a follow up Monday where I am positive he will send me back to the hospital for an induction.
We are 36 weeks today, but he is at a good weight, so I am hoping that that means all will be well. I am a teacher and had to leave with nothing planned. I was going to stay till 38 weeks.
I hope all goes well for you too- it sounds like you are in good hands
And I know it may not mean much to you- but your story is reassuring to me as I am going through the exact same thing right now.
Take care of yourself...
Will do. Look for us and the question of the day (will give you at least SOMETHING to look forward to each day-I know it does for me!) at 1:00 eastern
When is your EDD and how far along were you when you went in on bedrest?
EDD was 4-13-09 I was put on bedrest at 30wks 4dys thanks!!!
Good luck with everything!
While not exactly the same problem, hopefully this will give you some hope. I was admitted to the hospital for pre-term labor at 24 weeks, went on bedrest for a week. Then I was admitted into the hospital again at 28 weeks for partial placenta abruption, stayed in the hospital for 2 weeks, then was on bedrest at home for another 4 weeks. I got the steroid shots in the hospital in case I needed to deliver, which then wrecked havoc with my sugar levels.
I'm at 36 weeks now and still going on strong! Hope it works out for you as it did for me. Take care!
