Paint vs Hairspray

We are going to start painting the nursery this weekend and possibly a few other rooms in the house.  My parents are coming to help so I am not sucking in too much paint fumes.  I have said we should just get the Non or Low VOC paint and I would be fine.  No problem DH says...

Then today he gets out of the shower just seconds after I finished spraying my hair.  He looks at me and says, "You are all concerned about Non VOC paint and yet you suck in hairspray every morning.  How can that be good for you or Elizabeth?"

Cracked me up but he probably has a point.  Of course I am still going to spray my hair....otherwise mahem will occur with my "do".

Think he has a point?

Re: Paint vs Hairspray

  • My thought process is, you can't protect your baby from everything. While it is probably safer for ALL OF YOU not just the pregnant one to use that kind of paint-changing your daily routine is a little excessive.

That's like saying you are not going to drive anymore because of the risk of inhaling fumes from the other cars.

Take cautions, but don't kill yourself going nuts over a little bit of hairspray.

  • Eh... none of the books or doctors say anything about hairspray, so I wouldn't worry about it. But the paint thing... I plan on milking that for all it's worth!
  • I think he just hates the smell of hairspray!

I won't give it up!  Never no way no how.....
