Wtf? That's what my mom and someone else said I should have done b/c she'll just do it again. If you could see me I'm shaking my head. Yeah, that's teaching her. I think her not getting her book was more effective.

I'm going to hold a pillow over my head and scream now.

Um, yeah. BIL has bitten his kid back (which appalls me) and then wonders why the kid STILL bites. He's just taught him its okay. The kid has been a biter for over a year and even though he's 10mo younger than Luc, Luc is terrified of him. Its very sad.

I honestly think it all depends on the child...for A. denying her a book was the way to go. Josh bit me once and I bit him back....he just didnt get that it hurts...once I bit him he realized that it hurts.

My mom gave me the same advice when Evan went through a biting stage. ?I think she's nuts. ?I do think that being bitten by another child helped him to understand that it hurts, but I don't think it would have helped for me to act like a child and bite him myself.

I had several people give me the "bite her back" advice when DD was biting at 18 months. Sorry, but biting her back would not do anything.

Of course, 3/4 of those people didn't even have kids....
