Pregnant after a Loss

any long cycle/late O success stories?

I am looking for reassurance and hope. My cycles have always been somewhat long and seem to be getting longer. When I got my BFP last fall it was on a cycle when I O'd on CD 25. I m/c at 8w1d. Now I'm on CD 28 and I think I'm getting ready to O. Are there people out there who O'd this late and who have had/are having successful pregnancies?

Re: any long cycle/late O success stories?

  • I have always had long cycles, around 35-38 days.  I haven't had any problems getting pregnant, the frist was on day 26 (but I mc'd at 9 weeks) and this pregnancy I O'd at around day 23 or 24 and so far so good.

    Good luck

  • Everyone's cycle is so different.  I usually O on day 17-19 which is considered somewhat late.  I have read that anything past CD20 may be too late and may mean that the egg is past its prime by the time it ovulates.  Have you talked to your Dr.

  • I am so sorry about that!  Unfortunately it won't let me delete.  I don't know how that happened!
  • Yes, I have pretty long cycles, ranging from 32-48 days.  I had 1 miscarriage, but it only took me 1 or 2 cycles to get pregnant each time.  Good luck!
  • With my 1st pg, I O'd very late - it was around cd 60. That was't a successful pg. The 2nd pg, I had the help of clomid and O'd on cd 25 - and my daughter is 4 months old now.

My OB said with a late O, the egg quality is not as much of a concern as the quality of the uterine lining, which isn't ideal for implantation once it's began to age.

  • Normally I O regularly on day 14 or 15.  I had a mc at the end of December.  After my mc, I didn't O until cd24.  We thought we had no chance to get KU bc of my late O and DH's MFI.  We were shocked when we got pregnant.

    GL!!!

  • I'm not pg but have been having long/irregular cycles since my D&C in July. I finally saw my Dr. had an u/s done, everything looks good, so if we don't get pg on our own this month (I'm on CD 21-got my BFP on CD 14 last time) I am starting Clomid next month to help re-regulate my body. ?GL

  • I O a little on the late side normally, but the cycle I conceived this baby, I O'd really late -- CD 30.  I had an early m/c the cycle just before, so I think that messed me up.  So far, so good, though!
