she continued the every 4 hour feedings after the baby was out of the NICU. i dont know of any newborn eating every 4 hours around the clock.
First of all, that is probably what the baby was used to by then. If the baby is happy and not hungry, who on earth are you to say that the schedule it's been on since the hospital is no good?
Second, I guarantee that if there were any weight gain issues her pediatrician would be all over it.
What is it with this board and always thinking that every single baby in the world has to be just like their baby.
To be fair it's not the whole board, it's just that Miss Mod is pretty sure she knows best for every baby out there. She's like the surgeon general for mommies.

My dd ate 3oz every four hours the first week we were home...since then she has pretty much just uped the ounces...still every four hours. She is healthy and not under weight at all! This was her schedule....not one we imposed on her.

The four hour feeding schedule was a standard medical feeding convention until very recently. Conventions change.
I have no idea where the post originates from though.

Wow, I'd love to see that link. Unless someone else is logging in as me, I can assure you I've never said anything like that.
