Early U/S-When did you see or hear the HB?

My Ob scheduled an early U/S for next week. How early did you see or hear the HB?

With DD, we saw and heard the HB at 6w3d. This one will be a little earlier so I'm wondering what others' experiences have been.

I didn't even know you were pregnant...congrats! I was able to hear/see it at 6.5 weeks but, it was right after a m/c so, she was doing the u/s weekly up unil 10 weeks. The heart starts beating, typically, between 6-7 wks.

We had an u/s at 5 weeks (can't remember how many days) and did NOT see one.

Edit: And everything about the pregnancy has been smooth and normal, so don't worry if you don't see it.

7wk3d. we were able to see and hear both. most likely the tech will just show you the hb, but you can always ask if you can hear it!

I heard mine at 11 weeks (according to my doctor, 10 weeks according to thebump's ticker). She doesn't do the heartbeat at the first appointment so I felt like I had to wait forever.

My first appt was 7w3d and we seen and heard it then.

We saw the heartbeat for the first time at 6w4d.

We heard the heartbeat (via doppler) for the first time at 14w1d.

I don't consider the heartbeat sound that you get from u/s machines "hearing" the heartbeat. Yes, you get the galloping noise (we heard that at several ultrasounds prior to 10 weeks), but it is not an amplification of your babies actual heartbeat. It is a computer generated sound based on the flicker on the screen.
