Sometimes I wish that I could be like her. She has 8 kids and her house is always spotless. Yes she is somewhat over the top but I so wish that my house could be that clean even part of the time and I only have 1 child. I just keep reminding myself of what my mom always says. "A good mother has an untidy house but happy kids"

Having a clean house is not a facade. MH & I both work, our house is spotless and we have no help in keeping it that way.
Ditto this.
Why is it a facade? She admits that she has help, and says she couldn't manage without it. It'd be a facade if she claimed to do it all alone--and she doesn't.
Kate has hired a cleaning lady in the past. I'm not sure if she still has one, but I know she did for awhile. And if you had 8 kids that age, who wouldn't need help?
We have a clean house, but it was cleaner before baby. We try to use her morning nap time on Saturdays to clean together--it goes much faster that way, and that way I'm not overwhelmed with trying to fit it in during the week. If I have time, I do, but if I don't, I know I have a fall back.
hello...you're at work all day...of course it is clean. and you only have 1 kid, not 8. i'm not saying sahm=messy house, but kids do, in fact, make a mess throughout the day. you'll see when your 0-6 month old becomes a short-attention-span toddler and pulls every toy out multiple times each day(unless that isn't allowed in your spotless house).
No one said having a clean house and being a mom is a facade - they said Kate's clean house (and the impression that SHE cleans it) is a facade.
