In the spirit of the holiday, how did you know that DH or FI was "the one"?

A lot of things DH did for me played into it for me but...when DH and I started dating his ex was 3months pregnant with SS, but they weren't together. I went into the relationship open minded and willing to accept the fact he was going to be a daddy. On the day SS was born I talked to DH quite a bit but was not at the hospital. He was so happy and I just remember wanting to be the one that was having his child. That is when I knew, and here we are 4 years later having our first "together."

Actually, when I decided to dump the loser I had been dating for almost 4 years in order to go after DH (we had been friends for 2 years), I knew I was in it to win it. ?And DH didn't have a prayer. ?Besides, DH had already proclaimed his love for me. ?

I cohosted a party with my boyfriend.

A beer bottle fell and shattered on the floor.

I went to go clean it and he came running over to stop me so that I "didn't get hurt"

My boyfriend, at the time, just sat there and stared.

Before DH was DH he was just co-worker. I knew he was the one when I realized he was the only guy I had ever come across that gave me butterflies and caused me to act like a stupid little school girl. I'm not a giggly person, but whenever I was around him I giggled like a jacka$$ all the time. I even knew the sound his feet made when he walked (drags his feet real bad) and every time I heard it my heart would start pounding like crazy and would get hot flashes. I hated it! I was never that type of person, but being around him made me that way. He always flirted with me, but it never went any farther than that. A few years into our flirt fest he told me I had the same effect on him and our relationship went from there.?

When he picked me up for our first date I had the begining of a migraine. I decided to go anyway because I really liked him. 5 minutes into the drive to dinner I had to ask him to pull over because so I could get sick. (I wanted to die of embarassment) So I got out of the car and shut the door, next thing I knew he was right there holding my hair and rubbing my back. He took me back home and stayed on my couch all night while I slept in my room "in case I needed anything" 7 years later...here we are! Wink

When he stuck with me during our first pregnancy. It was very soon and unexpected. When we lost our son at 8 1/2 months I kinda snapped there for a few months and he took good care of me (feeding me pills) and stuck it out..nobody likes a crazy basketcase but he did and I fell in love with him. I know it's morbid but it's the truth Confused

It's a shame that something like that happening is what brought us together but something like that will "make you or break you" and it "made us". He told me (after he popped the question 4 months later) that he promised our son he would marry me and give him another brother or sister.

I had met DH at work, and we had flirted a bit and about a month later went out on a date. The first time we kissed I had got a tingly sensation up my back. I had never gotten that before. Things were going well, but I was still cautious since I had a real winner in my last relationship and didn't want to get to serious too fast. We had been dating for 3 months when my Dad died. For the next month I was a nutjob to say the least. Through it all he stuck by me and was very supportive of me. That's when I really knew that he was the one.

He put up with me. What more could I ask for? j/k j/k I can't tell you when I knew. We went through a LOT of ups and downs and he's been there with me through it all and never gave up when I wanted to.

i knew he was the one because of the way i felt when he touched me. it felt different than anything i had felt before. plus he was seriously the sweetest goofy-est guy i had ever gone out with. totally different than other guys i had been with. and he asked me to marry him once and i said no, but he stuck around and wore me down. he helped me though a lot of sht with my family (my parents were going through a divorce so i was a little ani-marriage at the time) but he stuck around and that meant a lot to me

I just knew. Can't explain it

Honestly, he was the first guy I didn't get sick of after a few months of dating.. and he was the first guy that I had absolutely NO doubts about, at all. It was/is just so easy with him.

When I met him he didnt speak one word to me. then then night I got totally wasted and made out with him. I appriceated that he was shy unless I was intoxicated
