Is cramping still normal..

In the second trimester? Just wondering because I know some people say that first stages of labor can feel like menstraul cramping. For the past couple of days I been really crampy, and now the cramping is in the back and front. I know this may seem like a stupid question, but this is my first pregnancy so I feel like I am in the dark sometimes. TIA ladies!

I have had cramping throughout most of my pregnancy - my midwife said as long as it isn't severe or coming and going like contractions then it's probably just stretching. If it gets severe call your doctor otherwise it's probably just lots of growing taking place....

I would call your doctor just to be on the safe side. I know some cramping is ok just because its kinda like "growing pains".. any pains I have in my tummy I just call cramps because thats what i'm so use to saying..

This is my third time around and I still find myself discovering new things with each pregnancy....yes it is totally normal...uterus still growing and baby too

BHC could be a culprit as well...I get them a lot.

I'm glad you asked this because I was wondering about this too. I'm a week behind you and yesterday I started feeling the "period-like cramps" too. I thought it was because I hadn't had enough water, but even after I drank a bunch I still had them. This is my first too so I have no experience. Hopefully it's normal!

sometimes its hard to decipher between cramping and stretching ligaments. if you are really worried you can always go to the dr to make sure its not bad stuff

I guess so? According to one of my books some people feel them pretty early on, some people don't ever feel them.

I felt them pretty early on with this pregnancy but it's my second. So, yeah, I have no idea. LOL

Overall I'd say it's normal, but stressful regardless. I've had cramping throughout since the very begninning. I even had an extra ultra-sound to make sure things were ok. For me things were totally fine and I just needed to take it easy. When I cramp I sit with my feet up or lay down. More rest and water can never hurt you. If you start to really worry call your doc just to provide you with some reassurance.

Well that's good to know, all my friends IRL just keep saying that they didn't feel them till they were 25 weeks on; so I just assumed they weren't BHC, thanks for telling met this! Big Smile

I cramp all day everyday and sometimes it is so severe that is squeezes really tight and I have to just sit there until it eases up. I have had that since I was six weeks but in the past 4 weeks the cramping has become more severe
