Yah, I am pretty bummed about it too, We have a mother daughter set up with my parents so we can save some money for a house.. BUYING IN NJ IS AWFUL still, anywhoo--- Our "nursery" will be a section of our bedroom for the time being. I am getting really sad when I see all your wonderful ideas and furniture.
Anyone else temporarily sharing their space with baby?
Re: Anyone else, NOT have a nursery?
Sam will be in a Pack N Play bassinet in our bedroom in our apartment for a while. He'll come in late June/early July, and we're praying my husband can graduate by September, so we'll be moving back home and buying a house then, so then Sam will get a nursery to himself.
We don't have a nursery either. Our two-bedroom apartment has 2 queen size beds and the spare bedroom is full of boxes right now. We are moving this summer so we are waiting to get nursery furniture until after we get to our new apartment. We are hoping to rent a three-bedroom or 2-bedroom with a den so we can have a nursery, a master bedroom and a guest bedroom.
I don't know anyone with an official nursery. I will set up DC's room as a "baby room" and when they get older move out the baby stuff and move in some other stuff like a bed etc. I've never seen anyone who had an actual set aside official nursery for more then 1 kid etc.
we will be sharing our room with the baby for the first two months, until our lease is up and we can get a three bedroom. we decided it wouldnt be fair to put the baby in the same room as my 5 year old waking her up all hours of the night..plus it would be easier to feed him and all anyway.
Hes due June 9th and we will be moving beginning/Mid August, so not too long.
*raises hand*
I'm also pretty sad about it. Setting up a nursery is such a right of passage and we are not in a place to do that right now. We will be moving, I'm just not sure when.
Baby will be in a pack n play in our room for the first couple months then move into a crib in their room.
We are renting though, so I won't be able to do much decorating such as painting etc.
But, don't be sad about it, you can still get some nice stuff for the baby and if you have space maybe set up a baby corner in your room?
I think HGTV has a section for setting up a nursery in your room
