My grampa is dying :(

My grandfather has been living wih my parents for the past 7 months. He is 81 and has dementia. They recently found masses on his thyroid and on his lung. He is just deteriorating. It has been so stressful for my parents and my aunts and unles just dont seem to GET IT just how serious this is. He is being medicated daily with morphine to keep him comfortable, and hospice comes in a few times per week. Yesterday my dad found him unresponsive and trembling in his OLD bedroom (not wher his hospital bed is now) My mom thinks he went in there (and shut the door) to die (like a comfort zone)

...I am so sad for my dad.

Awww, that is so sad! I'm sorry. My Grandmother died a few weeks ago from lung cancer. When she was diagnosed they gave her about a 4 week prognosis...she lived for almost a year! At least he's home with your parents and being taken care of by them and hospice. Hopefully he's comfortable.
