2nd Trimester

Any 2nd time moms going for a VBAC?

This pregnancy is going by faster than the first and at my 20 week the MD asked had I thought about another c/s or trying for a VBAC. I am not sure what to do. I have a little while to decide but she kinda scared be when she said that there is a 1% chance of uterine rupture which could result in mine and babies death.

  • 1% is such a low risk - if you want to do it, go for it.  However, I do know very few women who that has been succesful for.  Most end up with another c/s.

I personally am opting for a repeat c/s.  I am much more comfortable with that than a vbac.

  • I will be. That is actually the first thing I said at my very first appointment. I had a very bad recovery. I am keeping an open mind this time and know that another c/s is possible but I am still going to try for a VBAC. However I am now worried that she will end up breech or something and my chance to even try will be shot down!! We will see. The choice is up to you, your DH, and MD.

  • I am. I discussed this with my midwife and we're going to try it. I know many women who has and it's been sucessful. I too had a very bad recovery with my c-section and really don't want to go through it again. The only reason why I had a c-section was because I had preeclampsia and daughter needed to come out.
