Pregnant after a Loss

U/S update - PIH anyone?

So had another u/s today.  It was amazing!  The little bugger was squirming around everywhere!  You could see the little hands and feet moving like crazy when she got a good shot of them...then it would arch it's back - just really amazing Smile  Tomorrow I have to call to schedule my NT scan for sometime in the next two weeks.

Good news is that my Dr. said that I can go ahead and relax because my chance of a m/c is so low.  Bad news is that my bp skyrocketed.  It's usually on the low side and today I had a reading of 140/90 and then a 2nd one later of 130/90... I have to go back in 2 weeks to get it rechecked.  I was so freaked out for my first 2 apt's that I was shocked my BP wasn't high then and now I'm totally calm and it's way up from normal.  They said they are worried it's Pregnancy Induced Hypertension.  Hopefully the numbers go down next time!  Anyone else have HIP?  If so when did you get it?

Re: U/S update - PIH anyone?

  • Glad you had a good u/s!

PIH can start at anytime and is typically treated with bp meds. I don't currently have PIH, but I know a few PIH ladies who started high readings around 12-16 weeks. HTH!

  • I haven't been diagnosed with that yet, but at my 8 week appt I was 130/80, so they are going to keep an eye on it.   I am hoping it was just my nerves and that it will go down.   I didn't have any problems like this with my son, in fact it was always kinda low with him.  Keep us updated.   Hopefully it will resolve itself.   And congrats on a great ultrasound!!
  • YAY for a good u/s!! That is awesome!

I have no input on the BP issue, but I hope it is back to mormal at your nect appt! I will keep my fingers crossed that it is nothing!
