Rash on Alexis' back and shoulders

When I was giving Alexis a bath last night I noticed a rash covering her back and shoulders.  It's like little red pimples.  I don't know how long it was there b/c I didn't give her a bath the night before and her dad gave her a bath the night before that and he isn't quite as observant as mommy :)

She has been acting weird and fussier than normal for a couple days and I assumed it was teeth until I saw the rash.  Anyway I called the pedi this morning and they said I don't need to come in yet to put hydrocortisone on it twice a day then call back if it doens't go away in a couple days.

Always something!!!!

    Hopefully it isn't bothering her too much. And that is so true about the daddies (at least for my DH it applies!) He just isn't as observant as I am-lol!I hope the rash goes away quickly!

    Hope it isn't bother her at all. Hopefully the cortisone will take are of it.

    Sophia went through a point where she got a rash (like tiny red bumps) on her arms, legs, and torso. The doctor had me change her soap (to Cetaphil) and it worked.

    I work at Miami children's hospital in pediatric dermatology....sounds like either miliaria rubra (heat rash) or a little eczema. Hydrocortisone 2x day is perfect! Also, baths should be no more than 3 min with luke warm water (water, especially hot, is horrible for the skin)...100% cotton, loose clothing, and use a gentle soap (we recommend CeraVe soap) and a good emollient (we recommend CeraVe cream). Also use a hyperallergenic laundry detergent like All Free, Tide Free or Cheer Free for EVERYONE in the house. No bleach or fabric softeners. LOL...just saved you a $275 visit with us :)
