WTF! Can't figure out how to use my Moby wrap

I just got one and tried to put it on and even after I watched numerous videos on how to do it, I can't figure it out. The piece that goes around my waste (with the Moby tag in the front) seems very loose, even if I pull on it, it seems to gap.

Any suggestions on getting this thing on? I'd really like to figure it out.

  • When I wear mine it's loose too. It works out though. What hold are you trying to do, maybe I can walk you through it.

  • Put it on tighter than you think, as it will loosen up when stretching it around the baby. I also started putting the Moby tag portion higher than my actual waist, so it was just below my bra strap. A tip I heard once for carriers was that you should be able to bend down and kiss your baby's head if they were at the right height.

  • I was trying to do the Cradle hold
  • I honestly never could get the cradle hold to work. My DS hated it because there was always a piece of material the fell over his face and he couldn't look out. You might want to start with the newborn hold. I ended up waiting until my DS had better head control and then went with the lotus hold.
  • I had this prob too.  I take a side in each hand with my hands a few feet apart and let the rest dangle on the floor. Then I take it around to the back an switch hands with the fabric.  Then I take each side over my shoulder and push it through the tag section and finally cross, wrap around, and tie.  It might be a -little- loose but that's OK.
  • I find the newborn hold easier to wrap for and DS likes it much better than the cradle hold.
