How many years is too many?

Dd is not here yet, and we already have people trying to drop off play kitchens, play vanities and everything! It's nice to have the hand me downs, but holy cow, she won't be able to play with these for at least a year and a half. We don't have that much storage as it is! Are you all holding on to anything that will take over a year to play with it, or would you donate it? I try to tell them that, its a long ways off, and they just don't care!

Re: How many years is too many?

  • I personally keep what people have given me if i think that she will use it and then donate the rest of the stuff. If someone gave me a play kitchen right now i would find a place to store it (if i had room) just because I know that Abby used and loved the heck out of hers.

  • We have a storage garage. We're keeping everything that he'll get to in a year or so. Anything more than that has been donated or sold.
  • If you like it and can store it I would. Who knows what your money situation will be like in a year with the economy. And time flies. At least it is for me...

  • we have no space for large stuff like that and clutter drives me crazy.I'd probably donate or list it on craigslist.

  • We are pretty lucky in that we share toys and things with DH's sisters, and tend to get things as they are age appropriate, and then give them back when we are done.  We also have a walk up attic, so we can store some thigns up there.
