Ava will be 18 mos. this month and is showing signs of readiness. She will say "I pee" either when she is peeing/pooing, will sit on her Elmo chair and say "potty" and will bring me her wipes if she has a dirty diaper. I know I should follow her cues instead of an age, but I have had 24 mos. in my head as when we would start. I don't know why. Just curious if you are potty training/have potty trained, when did you start? I don't really want to start right now - I realize she is interested and I'll encourage that, but I think being interested and actually doing it are two different things. I really don't think if we actually started potty training that she would get the hang of it right now. I would also like to use regular potty training pants instead of pull-ups (except for at night and while we're out I guess), so this is another reason I think we should wait. I feel a lot of pressure to start potty training though. Family members are making comments like "it's time for mommy to buy you a potty chair." Now I don't really care what they think, but I also don't want to ignore what they're saying or ignore Ava.

CRAP! I was certain you all would say 18 mos. is too young, lol! Oh well... maybe we'll give it a try in a few weeks after I get used to the idea and read more about it. I will admit that I have had her chair picked out for a couple months. I think this one is super cute:
