If the playard is in the bedroom and the crib is in the nursery, where will the baby sleep downstairs? I think 2 playards is overkill, but my mom swears that I won't want to keep running upstairs to put the baby to sleep or change a diaper.
Definitely didn't buy 2 playards, but my sister did give me her bassinet...so the playard will go in our finished basement, the bassinet in the main living area for naps, and then the crib - she's not going to sleep in the room with us, though. She's going right in her crib.
So perhaps instead of a 2nd playard, you can get a bassinet?
I don't have stairs, but if I did, I would totally use a bouncy seat or swing to have the baby sleep in. 2 playards is overkill. Plus you can change a baby on the floor or couch.
Our Finished Basement- a playard that BFF gave us.
Living Room- a playard from our registry- got from the shower.
BedRoom- Bassinet
Baby's Room- Crib
So, no it's not too many. Also, DS will be going to an in-home day care, I can bring one of the playards there as well as it would be good when we go away down the shore.
We have a crib in her room, the PNP in our room and use a bouncy chair downstairs. It's not a ton of effort to walk up and down the stairs to change diapers or go to get the baby if they are napping. Plus I think it's a great way to work off the baby weight.
I think it's overkill, you can change a baby anywhere. Get one of those diaper totes that comes with a changing pad so you have everything you need on whatever floor the nursery is not on. On that same floor, what about a swing or bouncer or something?
That seems like serious overkill but then maybe I am just not that lazy. The crib is in our room upstairs and we don't have a play yard or a basinette. I may keep some diapers downstairs but I will carry the baby upstairs for sleeping if its not sleeping on me in a carrier.

I think she meant the playard in their bedroom, not the babies?
