...but I'm not...someone (who is older than me, not like, a teenager) asked me today if you can get pregnant from swallowing sperm.
I'm not kidding.

She just had her pre-marital counselling session through her church, and I guess they were discussing sex-ed type stuff, so she was very excited to ask me question.
Uh...was anyone else told by their church that an IUD works by aborting a fetus by literally "knocking it out" of the womb?

Let's try this again...
OMFG! What?!?! I was never told that and I wonder what kind of church that really is. Yikes.
Catholic.
They're okay with the pill, condoms, Depo P (I've found that in Canada, Catholics seems to protest less on the use of birth control)...so I didn't really understand why IUDs would be so off-limits (but I also don't know much about IUDs).
As for the other comment, I told her that babies do not grow in stomachs.

However, that is not what this girl was told. She was told that the IUD PHYSICALLY knocks "into" the fetus, kills it, causing it to be expelled from the uterus. Not exactly the same thing.

Yeah, that's a stupid scare tactic.

wow I know! Looks like we've got a job to do!
I'm sorry for butting in (late), but the Catholic Church is not okay with artificial birth control including condoms, the pill, etc. They are okay with NFP because it still leaves one open to the possibility of new life. Individuals who are Catholic may have different opinions, but that's their own opinion, not that of the Catholic Church. Just wanted to clarify.
