Cold/Allergy Meds while BF??

I should know this but my brain is mush..what can I take for my cold/allergy? I dont plan on pumping till 4 and bfing till 6ish-if that helps

    I took mucinex when I had a cold as it was in my bfing book as safe to take and listed as something that wouldn't affect supply. 

    I think almost all other cold/allergy meds will decrease your milk supply -- sudafed, benadryl, etc.

    I'd be really cautious about taking anything while breastfeeding since some decongestants (Sudafed in particular) can decrease your supply.  I personally didn't take anything since I was super paranoid, but I've been told Robitussin for the most part is ok.  Hope you feel better!

    thanks for the info ladies! i didnt realize that meds can decrease milk flow (durh)...i was more concerned about what gets passed on...that was very good to know..

     i will try to hold out for as long as i can altho my ears are starting to get stuffy, i'm already talking funny..waaah
