Speaking of names...Tell some ridiculous suggestions you have heard

DH was totally serious when he suggested the name Champ. I apologize in advance if that is anyone's name, or child's name, but....COME ON!!! He said when the teacher is going over the roster of kids in the class, now that is a name that is going to "stand out"..what a jerk!! Isn't Champ a dog's name, or nickname at best??

Re: Speaking of names...Tell some ridiculous suggestions you have heard

  • My DH wanted Orlando if it was going to be a boy. Um NO.

  • Loading the player...
  • The name I always wanted to name a son was Alexaundre.  A combination of Alexander and Deaundre.  I used to be into very unique and made up names.  I have moved on to classic and simple names.  Another favorite for a girl was Zaybriana.

Yup, I would have been one of those 1st tri girl trying to justify Neveah.  I am so glad I grew out of that!

  • Nickname and Dog name sound great for Champ. LOL.  My uncle said I should name my daughter after him, Francine Antonia...  His name is Frank Anthony.  No thanks.  We are sticking with Mia Hope.  HAHAHA.  He has such a brooklyn accent, he can't even say the name right. It's great. LOL.
  • My due date is March 2, which happens to be Texas Independence Day. A friend said I should name my son Tejas Alamo.....RIDICULOUS!!!
  • DH is an anthropology and religion major, he loves mythology. so, he was dead serious at the beginning that he wanted either of these:

    Odysseus

    Ulyses

    Prometheus

    Dante

    Otis

Buy now I am not sure if he was just exhasperating me in order to get away with the first decent name he liked but I am glad the end result was amicably and wonderfully met.

Soon to celebrate the day we met, even if the day before marks when we said goodbye.
  • Boys: Spike, Kash

Girls: Spice, Princess, Cretia (pronounced Cree-sha)

Sorry if anyone has these names or are considering these names, but they are NMS at all!

  • Dh tells people we went with Sadie Caroline b/c her initials would be SC like South Carolina. Um....not so much.
  • At one point, DH wanted Thor.  I started laughing and then realized he wasn't joking.
  • My MIL wanted us to name the baby Lucy if it was a girl.... Lucy is our dog's name.

Movie Quote: 'We named the dog Indiana.'

  • If we had a boy DH wanted to name him after his dad.  Unfortunately his dad's name is Eardley.  Um, no.

Just as a side note, I always think of Champ as the name of a horse.  I have known more than a few horses with that name.

I have an aunt that named her daughter Neveah (heaven spelled backwards)

  • ...I just think of Anchorman. :)
  • I tried really hard to like Primrose Lavender enough to use it, but I couldn't imagine what a girl named Primrose Lavender grows up to be.  I can't imagine a Primrose L. _________, M.D.

  • Oh and my little cousin, when he found out the baby was a boy suggested Optimus Prime, Wolverine, and Aqua Man
  • My husband had lots of terrible boys names...his favorite was Lee harvey (like oswald).  He also liked Tiger.  He's weird.  I told him god was punishing him by having a girl cuz god didn't want him to have a boy named lee harvey or tiger.  (He is freaking out about having a girl)
  • Champ is DEF a dog's name.
  • DH keeps trying to throw "Magnus" in the mix. We have a very German sounding last name and his family is big on the heritage of it. Talk about a kid being picked on.
  • My DH usually has good ideas for names (we haven't been able to decide on one yet), but his most recent contribution (and he was serious) to the list is Tripp.  Ummm....no.  That's the name of the lead character in "Failure to Launch", and it's absolutely nms.  For a 2nd middle name, MAYBE.  My DD threw out the best couple though: Cupid and Jacksannah.  We have the Disney Channel and Hannah Montana to thank for the 2nd one--yay!
  • Sorry if this is anyone's name, but DH wants Sonny for a girl.  Uh - no. . .
  • DH loved the name Franklin. ?Yuck. ?Thank goodness we settled on something normal.

  • Sunny for a girl isn't actually that bad.

Bad ones we got ideas for (from DH's grandma: Princess, Rita (our last name starts with R), Contessa, Minnie and for boys: Ramses... can't think of the others she suggested. Most of them were very egyptian sounding. And DH is Czech.
