I hate pedi appts with shots

My poor Sydney.  Two shots and that rotavirus drink.  She howled like I've never heard her before.  It was actually a scream.  Ashlyn never made that noise.  I actually panicked.

Then the doc decides to tell me that in the last month they've "lost" two babies due to a really bad bacteria going around, so keep my kids inside.  No playgroups or playgrounds if I can help it she said.  And here I am in the doctor's office-the most germiest place of all.....besides Walmart.....

Yep, he's home!!!  We're all so excited.  And it's looking like he doesn't have to go back either!  Thank God for that!!!

  • awww, poor Sydney!  I HATE shots :(
  • I'm sorry Sum! I'm sure you're kiddies will be just fine. That's one of the extra perks of bf'ing... your DD gets tons of vitamins and antibodies from your milk. =)

  • Oh that's great news. I'm so happy for him and your family!

  • "lost" two babies?! How devastating - I appreciate the need for the Pedi to advise you about a really dangerous bacteria - but I'm not so sure he needed to mention the deaths . . . I guess you may as well know the truth - but how frightening.

Oops, but yeah I agree...seems odd.  And you are really not allowed to take them anywhere?  Weird!  But I guess if kids died...

Anyway, POOR Syd!  Although bet you are more traumitized than she is now.

  • That second paragraph is really bothering me. I would probably be having regular panic attacks if my pedi said that to me. I understand his warning, but there has got to be a better way to get that message across.
  • My insurance won't cover the pentatec or whatever it's called. So she got FOUR shots plus rotavirus. She was not pleased.

After DS got and shared RSV from the pedis office, I don't want to go anywhere.
