Moms with jogging strollers...

I don't think my jogging stroller is a whole lot bigger than the Chicco that fits the infant seat.  DS seems to get aggrivated faster these days when he's in his car seat for an extended period of time.

Which do you use when you go out, like say, to the mall?  Do you use the jogging stroller or a regualr stroller?  Do you find it harder to get around with the jogging vs. the regular?  Or vice versa?

Re: Moms with jogging strollers...

  • We've never used the infant seat in our stroller- DS never liked being confined, and our jogger reclines almost fully, so we've always just put him in there (used a blanket to pad him a bit more when he was younger). ?So we've taken the jogger to the mall, running errands, into restaurants, etc. and never had an issue getting around with it. ?It's pretty similar in size to the travel systems I've seen, maybe even a bit more compact.

We are looking into getting an even smaller, more travel friendly stroller. ?That's mainly because I don't want to take the jogger along when we fly, which is fairly often.?

  • We don't have a jogging stroller, but we do have a Quinny Buzz, which has (I think) a similar footprint. ?I know it's a lot wider in the back than our stroller frame was, anyway.

At any rate, the first time I took it to the mall I ran into *everything*! ?But only for the first 20 minutes or so. ?Once I learned the difference, it was just as easy to navigate as the smaller stroller.

Give it a try one time and see how it goes. ?If it sucks, then you can always just go back to your other stroller.?

  • I think it really depends upon the type of jogging stroller you have. If you have one with a front wheel that swivels, you can pretty much use it as a normal stroller. If the front wheel is permanently locked into position, it will be much more of a pain to maneuver in tight spaces. I run with a full-blown running stroller that I would NEVER take to the mall because of size and turning radius; however, we also have a more compact "baby jogger" that we use everywhere. it is light and travels well. We pretty much put our infant carrying stroller in the garage as soon the pediatrician gave us the okay to move her into a jogging stroller.
