Last Wed night I was having painful "cramps" that my Dr had me go to L&D to get checked out. It turns out I was having mild, irregular contractions that they think were brought on by me being dehydrated. Ever since I've been making sure to drink a TON of water. I've also been trying to take it easy.
For the most part they seemed to have gone away. Not completely but to the point where I only have a couple relatively pain free ones per day. I have noticed an increase when I do a decent amount of walking or lifting. Like while I'm at work. They're back to the point where I'm having 4-5 and hour and they're somewhat painful. I only work Mondays from 12-6 and Wednesdays from 3-6. Once I go home and lay down they tend to go away. Do you think it's something I need to call my Dr. again about? TIA.
Re: Contractions at 20w4d (long)
Yes, call.
GL and I hope it gets resolved ASAP!
Can your work put you on some sort of modified duty. I'd mention it to your doc. I'm assuming any type of contraction at this point isn't a 'good' thing.
I'd call! Good luck. Hope all is well!
Sailor- So I have a question back to you. I have read a few of these where people get dehydrated and then start having contractions...etc.
So there are some days where I am so busy I forget to drink my water. And Ive gone the entire day with only drinking like 3 bottles of water. What did they tell you about this? Had you only missed a few days of not drinking enough water for this to happen? Im just curious for my own knowledge.
Thanks!! AND I hope it gets better!!
