talk to me about BH contrax

i think i felt my first couple this morning.  what do they feel like?  where do you feel them?  after each, baby started kicking around - is it typical for them to rile the baby up?  is that how you spell "rile"?  hmmm...any real life (non book) info would be great!! :)

Re: talk to me about BH contrax

  • I got my first last time at about 24 weeks.  They were not stong by any means but you could feel them.  My belly (the whole thing) would tighten up and they would last about 30 seconds or so.  They seemed to be triggered by cold and Olive Garden (I cannot explain this, maybe Oregano)..But each time I would walk across campus (Michigan in March/April) it would happen and yes, baby boy would kick away afterwards.  He was getting a little squeeze so that makes sense.

  • Yes, that's the correct spelling of rile.

I had them ALL the time w/ Caroline. I'm actually already having them this time, too. It feels like your tummy gets oddly tight. No pain or anything. Then it would just go away. I don't recall it being triggered by anything or resulting in any increased activity.

  • Sounds right~and yes, totally normal for baby to move around after.  It gets really fun when your closer to your due date!
  • They feel different for different woman.  Some it's just tightening.  For me, it felt like menstrual cramps.  Depending on the severity, the baby would sometimes move around afterwards.
