Saturday, I went to BRU just to look at major things (strollers, high chairs, and furniture). I walked in and just stopped as I took it all in. I have never felt A. Less educated; you need an engineering degree for some of that stuff B. Overwhelmed with all the choices.
I'm so glad that I went early so I now know what to expect when I go to register.
Re: Babies R Us- Most overwhelming experience....
DD - February 2011
I have been online researching brands so I feel a little direction when I get there. I made a list of all the possible brands I like with the highest ratings and only plan on looking at them.
If I see something I like, I will jot it down, add it and then go home and find out more about it.
GL!!!
I haven't taken my trip there but I plan on going with my BFF and her husband as well!
Read Baby Bargains and take a friend who is a mom already.
I went in there to register on Friday and it was a horrible experience. There were many choices that it was overwhelming (even though I did like having choices and didn't like that they didn't have a better selection of somethings). I also went with my DH, my mom and my sister. My mom I wanted to go to give advice but the only advice she gave was on colors and things and she doesn't have the same taste I do. My sister was a bit bossy and trying to educate me on things like 3-in-1 cribs (which she thought was a brand new and brilliant idea that I had probably never heard of...she doesn't know much about babies). And then on top of everything the sales associate that helped us register was very rude and didn't give us the things she said she would when we left just demanded the scanner back because they were busy (when we got done...not when we got there). And there wasn't any sales people on the floor to help answer questions.
My advice-just take 1 one person (husband or a good friend with similar taste that will help you decide what you want/need).
If you go on the weekend, go early in the morning like when they open. We were there from 11:45ish - about 1:30pm
