talk about starting a bad habit. oy

turtle was totally wired for sound at dinner tonight. he refuses to sit in a highchair or booster these days, so we let him kneel in a big chair or in a booth. we were in a booth at escalante's and he was just all over th place. jumping, dancing, turning around and talking to the people behind us. finally, i said to him "look, there is a tunnel" and pointed under the table (ever since we rode the train at zilker park in austin, he is obsessed with tunnels). he had really eaten a great dinner and i just gave him a thomas and let him crawl under the table and push it around. it was almost like date night for ray and i. we chatted, ate our dinner in peace... i know we're going to pay later. he's going to expect to be under the table at every restaurant we go to, but i guess if i actually get to eat in peace it might not be that bad!

    You know as well as I do, that sometimes you just do what you have to do.  I bet that dinner in peace was pretty darned nice.

    I'm wondering how many lurkers w/o kiddos are thinking to themselves "I'll never do that!".... and then I'd like to see them all back here with they have a toddler and realize that sometimes a quiet dinner with the hubby is worth having your toes run over by Thomas :-)

    LOL!  That is funny!  Hey, it worked for right now, right?  Thats my motto sometimes, try to not think too much about the future or I'd go crazy.  I just posted about Alex's fun playtime at Ninfas on Sunday.  Eating out is starting to stress me out so maybe I'll try the tunnel thing too :)
