Hair colored????

This is going to be our first child, so I was wondering if anyone has gotten there hair done while they were pregnant or with there previous pregnancies.

I need to get highlights and everything I read says don't get your hair done.   I don't want to harm the baby but my ROOTS ARE BAD!!! Am I being selfish?
