I did it!

I actually left the house with Lillian...just the two of us.  On Friday, I had just had it with being inside.  So I packed everything up, fed her and headed out to Baby Depot.  It took me about two hours to get ready and I was out for less than an hour but it's a start!  She cried/screamed the entire car ride there and I almost turned around a couple of times but decided to see what would happen when we got there.  I had a hard time figuring out how to get the car seat in the cart but an employee helped me...the kindness of strangers! Lillian seemed to like being pushed around in the cart.  She only started crying once when I stopped to look at something so I took a stroll around the store (per someone's advice here) and she fell asleep.  I know it may not go this well every time we are out but I'm going to just keep trying.  Next week:  Target and Kroger here we come!  Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and advice.

    I am glad it went so well.  They do like you to keep the cart moving.  I remember having to push the cart back and forth in a rocking motion to get a few seconds to select an item. It does get easier!

    Great!! ?It really will get easier. ?The more you get out, the more she will get used to riding in the car. ?When you are out you just do what you have to do to get her calmed down. ?Yesterday when we were at Target Elena decided she had enough of being in her car seat. ?So I just carried her while pushing the cart- she didn't make a peep after that. ?

    Good job! It does get easier...then it gets challenging again...i.e. keeping him in the cart, lol.  I'm so glad you got out!  It's terrific weather to get out.  It is supposed to be really nice tomorrow...do you have a park nearby where you could take a stroll?

    Yes!  I am looking forward to the warmer weather so we can take a walk.  Getting some fresh air will be great!

    Awww... before you know it, your little one will be riding in one of those shopping carts with the big car on the front of it, lol!  I am getting so excited about having a newborn again!
