maternity sizes?

I'm really confused about ordering maternity jean shorts online, I was a size 4 or 6, i haven't gotten very big yet.  but I want to order shorts for the summer (I'm due in JULY, and they are on sale now) and they only have small medium or large...  what do I do?!?

Re: maternity sizes?

  • I would go with a medium. Although, it's for late in your pregnancy, so maybe a large would be better for comfort. Can you order one of each and return one? I'd suggest trying them both on and if the medium is snug or fits well right now, go with the large. Make sense?

  • Small. I was a 10 prepreg and Mediums are a little big on me.
  • I'd get mediums.  I was a size 4 and am already in mediums part because of the bump but mostly because of extra weight gain.
  • It really depends on where you're gaining the weight.  If you can see already that it's mostly going to the belly, then I would get the size small.  I was a 6 pre-pregnacy, and even though I've gained a bit of weight in the hips and such, size mediums are absolutely too baggy on me.  The companies that make these clothes take into account that you're going to grow some in the hips and legs, and they make adjustments for that.  Happy shopping:-)

  • Who has shorts on sale??????

I was a 6 pre pregnancy and find that mediums fit well now. They were a bit big at 15 weeks, but fit without my bella band now. My current jeans are petites from JCP.

  • I'm in maternity pants medium, and that's for length, I'm tall. The small actually fits me around the belly - I find maternity stuff huge! I'm street size 8. I'd go with medium.
  • All of my maternity clothes are in my pre-pregnancy size.  I've still got lots of room in them.  I'd order your pre-pregnancy size and just watch what you eat so you don't overgain.
