  That's tough... William and Liam are both great names. I'd say if you want to call him William or Will, name him William.  If you want to call him Liam, name him Liam.

  I think William or Liam go good with your DD's name.  But if you want to call him Liam I would just name him that.

  I would say Will with Ava.

  Liam is one of my top choices. Will doesn't go great with our last name, although William does.

  We were in the same boat but ended up with a girl.  DH's grandpa is William and goes by Bill.  I really dislike the nicknames Will, Bill, Billy and Willy for William....and to be honest, I'm not 100% in love with "William" but it was important to DH to honour his grandpa.  We love Liam, on its own, but we'd planned on naming the baby William and just calling him Liam from day one - to avoid nicknames we don't like, and to be able to honour grandpa with the "formal" name.  And then little Liam could always go by William as an adult if he wanted to.

  If it wasn't for grandpa being named William, we would have just gone with Liam.

  I love Liam! If you want to name your son after grandpa, then name him William. Then you can call him whatever feels right once he's born; Liam, Will, or William.

  I love the name Liam, I would name our son that if dh let me so I would go for Liam.  I do really like William too so I would say go for naming him William but calling him Liam!

  William is an excellent name, and Will is a great nickname for William.

  To be honest, it has never occurred to me that Liam is a nickname for William. I get why it would be, but whenever I think of Liam, I think of it as a name on its own. I think Liam would be just as nice a tribute to grandfather William as William would be.

  To me Liam isn't a name in it's own right. Kind of like how you wouldn't name a daugher Jenny you would name her Jennifer. I would name him William and call him Liam. I have liked that nn for a long time.
