2nd Trimester

Octuplets mom is one crazy b!tch...

This woman is getting her MASTER'S Degree in COUNSELING. Doesn't she know she's crazy!?!?!? WTF?!?!?

*she said she had so many children because as a single child, she felt alone and had emotional holes that needed filling (ummm... yeah.... having 14 kids and no job is definitely a way to help your kids not have any psychological issues about their childhood the way you did... way to go)

*she said that once she graduates, she'll be able to provide for them quote: "I know I'll be able to afford them when I'm done with my schooling" (hmmm... did we not have a calendar handy?!?! Graduate, then get pregnant)

*?I'm providing myself to my children. I'm loving them unconditionally, accepting them unconditionally,? she told Curry. ?Everything I do, I'll stop my life for them and be present with them. And hold them. And be with them. And how many parents do that? I'm sure there are many that do, but many don't. And that's unfortunate. That is selfish.? (so... wtf are you going to do and how are you going to be able to afford them when you're a full time counselor? Pick one... provide financial for them, or yourself, cause with that many, you can't do both)

*?I didn't feel as though, when I was a child, I had much control of my environment. I felt powerless. And that gave me a sense of predictability. Reflecting back on my childhood, I know it wasn't functional. It was pretty dysfunctional, and whose isn't?? (Yes... again... having 14 children is surely a way to help them all feel independent and in control of their situation... yeah)

End rant. :)

  • And since when does a masters degree mean you can afford 14 kids especially right out of school?

  • My thoughts exactly!  I think she has been in the mental health field too long to see how non-committed people behave and make decisions.

  • Well, good morning to you too BearKat, lol.

I say props to her for at least trying to provide for them by going back to school. And not everybody graduates and then gets pregnant. Ideally that may be what would be best, but it doen't always happen that way. I know her situation is different because of the IVF thing, but that's more the doctor's fault than hers.

Especially a master's degree in counseling.  Counselors are definitely needed in this world, but it's going to take her some time to build up a client base and they aren't exactly rolling in the $$.

  • AMEN!!!!!!!!! I totally agree!!!!!
  • She also said that she wanted 7 children...meaning just one more.  Well why didn't you just implant 2 embreyos...why all 6!? That's nuts to me...How many times had she given birth before?
  • Well...having a lot of children isn't uncommon.  It's done a lot in other parts of the world.  It's just uncommon in the US (my mom was one of 11 and my dad one of 10)

The part that bothers me is that they are all the same age.  I have no idea how she's going to just do normal activities.  I mean...how would she even get 12 car seats in one van?? (I think she needs 12 right because 4 are still at the car seat age??) Which also means these kids won't get to go out often.  Plus she can't possibly be there emotionally for all of them.

And the whole graduate then get pregnant...well the same can be said for get married then get pregnant but that didn't stop me Wink

  • haha - when i first read that article and it said that she was hurt while at the mental hospital i was like, "ahhh ha!  that makes complete total sense!"  then i read a little further and she WORKED there?!  WTF?

her own mom thinks she's nuts.

then I would run those nasty fish lips to a plastic surgeon to undo that Angelina Jolie Lip she tried to get and FAILED on.

  • I'm sorry but any family who decides to have that enormous number of kids, her or the duggars, I feel bad for the kids! The oldest ones are going to lose their childhood in this because they are going to have to help raise the younger ones adn take them to afterschool stuff and school and...it just irks me that she wanted to have these becuase her childhood was f'ed up but she's just repeating the cycle
  • I don't think that if my husband & I both had Masters Degree's we'd be able to afford 14 children, I'm hoping that one day we'll be able to afford the 4 that we want!

    Michelle

  • If she is going to take classes to get her Masters and then go back to work she better hope she find some great people to help watch the kids. I am worried about paying for childcare for one.
  • and how the HELL is she going to raise, *provide love* for 14 effin kids when she is a single parent and in school full time???   NOT thought out!  This also does not give Kiaser or her OB a very good rating in my book.
  • Um my husband has had his master's degree for some time now and we still checked and rechecked our finances to make sure we could afford a baby.....

Apparently for every one of her pregnancies they implated at least 3 and she knew this was going to be her last baby, so they used what they had left... I blame that poor decision on the doctor.

I think that doctor needs to do some explaining!

  • I don't think people will ever be able to afford children. If we all waited until we could, we probably would be childless.

This is responsible parenting.  A couple (of any kind) trying to be able to support their children 100% financially as well as emotionally.

I think of that Octuplet Mom as one of those crazy cat ladies who horde like 50 cats, because "they need love."  But, they cannot support them in any way medically.

LMAO!! "Used what they had left" as if they didn't see any risk in that haha

  • a master's degree or PhD in this economy doesn't guarantee a lot of money. i'm shocked how she's trying to fill a void with CHILDREN. good grief - i get upset when i see people doing this with too many pets!!!

Haha...can the ASPCA come in and rescue her children like they do withthe cats at the crazy cat lady's house?

  • I'll be done with my masters degree in a few months and I can barely afford 1 kid, let alone 14.  She's a quack!

Um, what child has a lot of control over their environment?!? Not to mention, children thrive on a routine. Predictability is good for them- they know what to expect. That is why teachers have a daily schedule and always do things in the same order. Moron.

I wouldn't put it past the DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) having her in their "radar".  Remember they did it with that duggar-ish clan in the midwest last year, remember?  And those people only had a few kids to a couple.

Now that's going a little too far. Taking children away from her simply because some people dislike the whole matter isn't the solution.

Who defines what being a good parent is? I'm sure we will all do things that other people would view as not being a good parent, whether it's discipline, schooling choices - heck, some of us have been told we will be bad parents for choosing to not breastfeed!

I think people need to stop harping on her and start harping on the doctors that ignored IVF guidelines.

I'm not implying that they should just be taken away for no reason. The ASPCA doesn't come in and take your pets just because you have a lot of them...they take them if they're improperly cared for or if you are not stable enough to take care of them yourself. It was just a joke in response to what Princess_Lily said.

I agree with you...I absolutely disagree with the fact that proper guidelines were not followed and stricter ones should be established and enforced.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I cringe when I hear people joke around about having children removed from familes when it isn't an abuse situation. Being homeschooled, my family was always on the watch for being reported. Some people just don't understand that educational choice and think children are automatically being abused, so that's why I reacted the way I did.

No Problem...I wasn't really offended by your response just wanted to clarify that I wasn't really "serious" per say.
