Can internals get labor rolling????

I'm 40 weeks today....had an internal and it was the first time I've actually bleed and had some cramping after one. I'm only 2cm dialated and 50% effaced. just wondering if maybe the internal could help get things rolling?

Stupid me...I forgot to ask.

if you are asking this girl that has labor going on because of her internals, id say yes. lol. Same thing happened with my son as well.

yes actually it can, but your body has to be ready for it. stimulation is stimulation.

My internal today has also made me very crampy, and I've been bleeding since. My doula said (and I think this is anecdotal - not based on research) she thinks many women go into labor a day or two after their due date b/c the internal at the 40 week appointment gets things going.
