3rd Tri U/S

It sounds like most of the girls on here get an u/s towards the end of their pregnancy to determine the weight and size of the baby before delivery but when I asked my doctor yesterday when they did this she said that they don't. :-( I don't get another u/s unless they think something is wrong. I definitely don't want there be reason to have to get another u/s but I am now hoping for an on time baby where as before I didn't think I would mind carrying him a little longer if he wanted to stay in there. I don't want a c-section if the baby is too big because I carried him past my due date. My husband was a big baby! (Almost 10 lbs)

Just whining I guess sorry...

Anyone else not get a 3rd tri u/s and worried about it?

    Some doctors do them some don't end of story.

    I am not sure, but I think I will get one.  The dr, is concerned about the size of my pelvis and issues with delivery.  I'm not sure if it's routine though or not.

    If they aren't concerned about the baby's size based on previous u/s or even external exams, then I wouldn't worry about it.  A lot of people go upwards of a week late and still have only 8 or 9lb babies.  Unless you're teeny tiny, most women can handle that vaginally.

    I get them every 4 weeks b/c of my blood clotting condition and being on Heparin.  So I'm guessing I will get another one during the early stages of labor.

    Guess I will just have to keep my fingers crossed. I have a gut feeling I will be in the same boat as you though. Late...
