well, my ovaries look good so we're just waiting on b/w to make sure I can start stims on Sat.
there are a few small changes to my protocol. Any opinions about any of this are welcome!
--starting at 375iu Gonal F instead of 450 (last time my E2 was at 600 after 3 days of stims b/c of starting at 450). also using low-dose HCG just like last time.
--my RE oh-so-kindly reminded me that I'm getting closer to 35 and that my first fresh cycle didn't work, so he recommended transferring 3 embryos. That just makes me too scared. We agreed on 2 good quality ones, or 3 if the quality isn't as good.
--he's also recommending assisted hatching due to having a previous failed cycle. the cynical part of me thinks they just want more money from us (AH costs extra - I didn't even ask how much), and they want me to be successful this cycle so they don't lose any money in the shared risk contract (we'll basically break even with shared risk on this cycle).
--we will also do ICSI, just like we did last time
p.s. SAIF always welcome in my posts - I just don't always remember to put it in the title!

1. I think starting at a lower dose is a great idea. I did Follistim, but my E2 was also very high very quick. We had discused lowering my starting dose if I had to do another fresh cycle.
2. We transferred 3 after 3 failed cycles of transferring 2. I'm glad we did it, but it has now hit me that we transferred that many, and I'm kind of freaking out. To each his own on this one!
3. Hmm...I would recommend AH, but it was included in our ICSI package. Is it a lot more money? I do think that it is helpful, but I wouldn't want to spend a lot more money on it.
4. Good!
Looks good! I"m praying this time is it for you!! Good luck!!!

Starting at a lower dosage sounds like a good idea as they can always adjust up as needed.
I think you have the right idea about transferring 2 good quality embryos. Transferring 3 would make me really nervous as well. I'm 35 and my RE will only transfer 2. However, I was thinking of pushing for 3 for my FET (since their success rates are lower than fresh and we can't seem to get them to stick). Eek...maybe not? It's scary just typing it out.
Not sure about the AH as I believe it's standard at my clinic. I hope it's not too much more expensive so you feel comfortable with it.
Best of luck....I hope the changes are just what you need.
Glad to see you are back in the swing of things : ) I agree with your thoughts, I would transfer 2 if good quality or 3 if not as good quality. I am 36 and since pg. once before, RE refused to put back more than 2. We were going to chat w/ him if our quality was poor.
On the assisted hatching, I say go for it. Ours was only $660 more and I truly believe it helped us. We opted to do it only if necessary and they felt it was necessary this time. Wishing you all the best!!!!

Your "revised" protocol sounds good--if the lower dose isn't working, they can always up it after a few days. And as far as AH goes, we didn't do it but I know it was $500 at our clinic. Compared to other costs I guess it's not that much.
GOOD LUCK!!
