Avg hours/cost for MDO program?

We're trying to figure out what to do when #2 arrives and it may be only a little bit more to get a nanny and also put ds into a part time, mdo program. I havent done much research yet, but was just curious if anyone would be willing to tell me how many hrs their program is and how muh it is.  Thanks!!!

Re: Avg hours/cost for MDO program?

  • DD goes 1 day a week from 9-2 and it is $135 per month, plus a one-time registration fee. That is the tuition for kids under 1. The cost goes down a little as they get older.

  • $210/month for 2 days a week 9-2....  There is also a registration fee and material fee that ends up being about $225 a year on top of that...  Honestly, it's the best thing I have ever done.  Even with 2 of them in MDO it will be slightly cheaper than our nanny AND I can have the house to myself.  Only down side is that they are close major holidays and a week for Christmas, Spring Break, and 1 week in the summer...
  • alex can go to Esperanza with Turtle! awwww

we pay $310/month for 2 days from 8:30-2:30. i have had some issues with the school but they have been addressed and Turtleman is super happy there. plus, ihear nothing but good things about the preschool program, so if nothing else i am happy to have him in

  • and FWIW, from friends experiences, i think that putting alex in a MDO a couple days (or even 1 day) while the nanny is home with the baby would really benefit him. it's done a lot for my friends' kids with full time nannies.

  • we pay 130/mo for 2 days a week... It'll be 150 when we go to three days over the summer, in preparation for pre-school next year.

  • Aidan will start soon to MDO - it is $150/month for 2 days, $200 for 4 days per week - from 9-2pm.
  • Addie goes 2 days a week, from 9:30-2 for $135 (it's $155 for non church members)

  • at my DD MDO she goes 3xweek 9-2:30 and it's $385.

  • It was $325 for 3 days, 9-2 and it's $550 for 5 days (which is the same cost as 3 day fulltime care at this church)

Her last MDO program was $175 for 3 days, but the church closed it down for financial reasons so being super cheap wasn't so great after all.

But both MDOs she's been in have also offered extra hours, so if she needed to stay until 4 one day it'd be $7/hour for the 2 extra hours. Not all programs offer extended hours, but it was a godsend for me.
