3rd Trimester

If I could Give You One Trimester?

I asked my husband, "If you could take one trimester from me and give me a break, which one would you take, 1st or 3rd?"  I had a horrible 1st tri, constant morning sickness.  DH said, "I'd take your first, even with being as sick as you were, at least I wouldn't be as uncomfortable as you are now."  I must be laying it on pretty thick, because I can't believe I'm about to say this, 1st tri for me was so much worse than this.

  • i'd have to agree with you... 1st tri you are tired/sick, etc- but have nothing to really show for it :)  no belly, no baby kicks, etc.

at least in the 3rd when you are tired and feel like crap you have that awesome belly and kicks to feel- and everyone KNOWS you are pg so anywhere you go people are nicer to you, helpful, etc.

  • Aw.  They are so cute in their ignorance.  This morning DH was asking me what it was like to carry the baby.  He's like, "I have a little belly that I carry around".  I was like, "Put a sugarbaby watermelon inside that 'little belly' and walk around all day with that thing bouncing up and down on your bladder".  Then he asked if I liked the changes my body went through and if I really enjoyed being pregnant.  I don't mind the changes during pregnancy, it's the changes after that I don't enjoy so much.

  • Ooo...that's a really good question!  What he doesn't know is that he'd probably be better off taking 3rd tri - at least then you get to feel the babies move.

  • very telling that you would keep 2nd tri for yourself! (I agree though ... I felt GREAT in my second tri!)
