Is your DC very clingy?

My DS is suddenly sooooo clingy to me. He cries constantly unless I am holding him! Even if I sit him down with all his toys, if I am in the room he crawls directly to me and sits on my lap. Or sometimes he just throws himself forward onto the floor and cries! When I get him interested in something I have to sneak out of the room and try not to let him see me when I go back to check on him. I love him to death but he's driving me crazy! I can not get anything done at home because I have a 22 lb. baby on my hip 24/7. And DH does not understand why dinner is not cooking, why the dog hasn't been walked, and why the house isn't clean when he gets home.... hmmmmmm???

Yes, for about 2 months now. If he wakes up crying at night and DH goes in there, it escalates into screaming and poor DH said that Parker constantly lunges for the door and reaches out to it like he's expecting me to come through:o( This breaks my heart!

We have the same thing going on here but not as much as you. From what I've read, I think you don't want to just sneak away. I think you want to say "bye, i'll be right back" leave them and then come back. Also the peek a boo thing works too to help them learn about object permanenance and that you'll return. They don't understand that you'll be coming back and if you sneak away while they're playing with toys actually escalates the sense of fear of you leaving.
