Relief for gas pains?

The past few days I have had bloating and major tummy aches that lead to really bad gas pains.  I have IBS to begin with, so I think the pregnancy is making it worse!  I usually just ball up with a heating pad on my stomach for relief, but I don't want to cook the little bean!  Laying on my back w/my knees up to my chest helps, but I can't really do that at work.  My DH calls it my "wind relieving pose."  Embarrassed

Any remedies that you ladies recommend?  Thanks in advance!

  • ditto on the TUMS
  • It is weird but gingerale or other carbonated beverages seem to help me.
  • Gas X is my friend.

  • Sorry, no advice besides Tums.

But, I just think it is funny that this post has so many views so quickly!

  • Gas X, Activa Yogurt and tons of water were my best friends. Walking helped tons. I had them for a good 2 weeks and they finally subsided. Thank God! Good Luck, I feel your pain.
  • I have IBS too and Gas X did nothing for me pre-pregnancy; however, it has been a life saver since I've been pregnant.  Tums doesn't help me with gas, only heartburn.

Who would've thought that gas would spur so much interest??  512 views...wow!

  • Rolaids Multi-Symptom work wonders... they contain the same active ingredient as Gas-X (60 mg simethicone) as well as calcium - I buy the Cool Mint flavor and find that not only do they work better than Tums, but they are not as chalky.

The bottle says they are for heartburn, acid indigestion, pressure, bloating and discomfort commonly referred to as gas.
