We are not nursing anymore so I pump. We give him formula also but he gets BM throughout the day. Short of adding more pump sessions (I can hardly find the time to do the ones I do now) is there any way to increase the supply? I know I'm not drinking enough - will that help? Or what?
Re: Is there a way I can increase my supply?
Water-- I have a 32 oz cup that I fill at least 3-4 times a day.
Oatmeal-- the real stuff, not instant or quick oats. Use old fashioned or steel cut. I notice a difference on the days that I don't eat my oatmeal. I make a big batch of steel cut oats at the beginning of the week, ladle it into 1c containers and pull one out each day.

Ditto REOM's suggestions! ??
Also, I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but more pumping is really the most effective way to increase your supply. ?Your milk is made on a demand-and-supply system: ?the more you demand from your body (i.e. pumping or, ideally, baby at breast), the more milk your body will know to make. ?You should be pumping 8 times a day and if possible, try a hospital-grade pump, if you are no longer feeding the baby at the breast. ?The home pumps (like Medela PIS or Ameda PY) are "maintenance pumps" and designed for the occasional few pumpings throughout the day to supplement with a bottle. ?A hospital-grade pump is to establish or keep up a supply when baby is not at breast. ?One other consideration is to take Don Peridon, a prescription drug that you can only get through the internet (unless you live in Canada). ?It is VERY helpful in increasing supply. ?Try paging Cleokitty about it- she took it and I think had great results.
Good luck and hang in there!!!?
