Was anyone on Clomid?

Hi ladies...

Just wondering if any of you were on Clomid prior to your BFP? How long were you on it before you got your BFP? Any problems with it? Doc just prescribed it to me...

Yes, I did 3 cycles, but did not get pregnant on it. Are you being monitored with multiple ultrasounds AND bloodtests throughout your cyle??? Clomid can be really dangerous and it's not candy. Don't take it with a Dr. who will not monitor you properly b/c you can overstimulate, screw up your lining so you can't get pregnant, and produce cysts.

I was on 50 mg and got pg the first cycle. I m/c at 6w2d. I got pg this time on my 3 round at 50mg. GL

I also did 3 cycles of Clomid and it did not work for me. I moved onto injections of FSH and after 2 cycles that worked! You should definately see an infertility specialist, who can closely monitor your follicle growth, and order more tests to see what you really need. I do know some women who got PG on Clomid, so it does work for some! Best of Luck!

I was on it for 5 days (one cycle) and have possibly permanent (as of 9 months later anyway) visual side effects like halos, flashing lights, and bad floaters in my vision. I have been seen by several specialist who tell me that it is not well researched and they know it is a possible side effect but they can't help me. It didn't work for me that month either, I got preggers next month by ourselves.

I got pg on my first cycle of 50 mg. Like the pp said, it is really important that you get monitored while on it with ultrasounds & check-ups. Good luck!

I took one cycle at 50mg and got my BFP in the same month. I did not have any side effects, but as you know everyone is different. Are you on Clomid for any reason (i.e. PCOS)? I have a mild case of PCOS and I had success with clomid. Iam in my 13th week. Good luck!

you can probably find horror stories and wonderful success stories when you look this up. After trying on our own, I took 50mg for one round and got pg, only to mc shortly thereafter. However, I got pg immediately the next month. I do attribute this to the clomid and my body being open to being pregnant, if that makes sense. The only thing I saw when I took it is if you're tracking your temp, it may not correspond. So, when I would normally go up in my temp and ovulate, even though that month didn't, we did it anyways to be sure... it worked.

I got PG on my 1st round of Clomid at 50mg on CD 3-7. I did not have ANY side effects (I was worried that I wouldn't even O b/c I had no side effects) and so far the pregnancy and baby are doing great! GL

Same here. I did use a fertility monitor to track ovulation. This cycle of clomid was just to see how my body reacted to it, then the next month it was on to IUI. I'm glad the clomid worked!

i called my doctor with my 3rd negative test in a row and he prescribed clomid....a couple of days later positive test and here i am.....im so glad i didnt have to resort to that but i know i would have done whatever it took!

I have a mild case of PCOS and my doctor prescribed me three cycles of Clomid to see how I would react to it. All I can say was that the third time was the charm because I got a BFP on the third cycle of it!

Please tell me your doctor didn't give you Clomid after TTC for 3 months without any testing or known fertility problems!!?!?!! Indifferent

My doctor put me on clomid 50 mg and I got my BFP! Finally after a year of trying! No side effects or anything. My cousin also used clomid for both of her children and it took 100 mg both times! Neither one of us had any side effects and our doctor (we see the same one) assured us this was a safe method and if nothing happened after 6 months he would refer us on to a specialist....but it worked! It really is a miracle drug!!!

Thanks ladies for the responses. He actually is prescribing me Clomid after only 5 months of TTC, but he's doing it because I was always a 28 cycle day girl, O'ng on day 15/16 and then the past few months my cycles are getting longer and longer, up to 45 days and O'ng on CD 30. So he said he wants to make ovulation happen sooner, he also put me on Prometrium and Estradol... ugh. I just hope this stuff works.
