Does your breastfed baby's poop stink?

My lo's does, and I'm wondering if it is something I should mention to his doctor. It smells kind of meaty. DH says it isn't supposed to be odorless, it just smells less bad than a formula fed baby's. Of course I don't plan on sniffing ff babies diapers, so I don't really have a comparison. So on a scale of 1-10, how bad is your ebf baby's poopy diapers, with 1 being no smell at all.

I've been wondering this too. DD's is sometimes a 2 and sometimes it's an 8. I heard it's not supposed to stink, so I wonder if I'm eating something that doesn't sit well with her

Probably about a 4-5 on your scale. It smells like stinky cheese to me, but it doesn't smell foul or anything. Meaty....sounds odd, but just ask the pedi if you're concerned. HTH.

actually, a couple of weeks ago I was BFing at night and thought DD smelled like sausage. I think it was her poop. Sometimes her poops smell worse than others.

I think it does vary based on what you eat. Lately DD's smells just like popcorn!

popcorn is a pretty normal smell. The last few days dd's is just rank. I'm blaming the chili I ate. If you ever do smell FF poop you will think EBF poop doesn't smell in comparison.

DH and I were saying that DS's smells like bacon. DS #1 was FF, his poops were definitely much stinkier.

LOL, DH thinks ds's poop smells like foul cheese. I can't even imagine popcorn. I guess he's normal. It always stinks, so I guess it must be most things I eat. I also notice that it smells like his vitamins when I give those to him.

for a while there, it smelled like butter

now they smell like foul cheese or sour yogurt.

DS's poop was pretty stinky (like rotten eggs!) last week, but its back to normal again this week. I guess it must have been something I was eating last week - I just can't recall what it was.

It usually hardly smells at all, but the last 2 days or so it's smelled like vinegar. From what I've read, it's nothing to be concerned with, but I wish I knew what was causing it. I haven't eaten anything new lately.
